Art in a Carton – Good Mail!

I am participating in Art-In-A-Carton, which is an art swap started by Susan (ArtAngel) from Germany.  The carton she sent to me arrived yesterday and I opened it this morning.  I can’t tall you how exciting it is getting Art in the Mail!

Susan sent some wonderful stuff – there were 2 Goddesses she made the longer one is made from Silk which she has bead embroidered with wonderful handwork!  The crystal lady with the WILD RED hair is wire wrapped crystal beads on a wooden base – I plan to use her as a guardian for one of my houseplants.  This particular houseplant needs some protection from Hunter (the cat) who has decided that he needs to personally taste every leaf!

Susan also made a wonderful shrine – in the top photo is is closed, but if you open the smaller photo you will see it opened and home to 3 more Goddesses.  (both photos are clickable)

Last but not least, there was some German chocolate, because everyone knows that Goddesses NEED CHOCOLATE!

Thank you thank you thank you!  I hope to have my Art-In-A-Carton’s finished by this weekend and then they will be on their way.  If you want to play or if you want to see some of the other wonderful stuff that has been swapped go and visit the Art-In-A-Carton blog   There is also a link on my sidebar!  This was a Great Swap Idea!

It looks like so much fun and creativity all in one small box, I would really love to see what you make, too! I know it will be wonderful. I especially loved the red goddess made of silk, with all the beading. B*B, Ysabeau

Thanks for sharing the photos. I never ceased to be amazed at the creative ways quiltmakers and fiber artists think of to entertain and inspire their colleagues.
