QR Code Quilt

I finished my QR Code Quilt* and I’m very pleased with how it came out. (Images are clickable)

QR Code Quilt by Deirdre Abbotts

I’ve heard from several people with iPhone, iPads and Android smart phones and the quilt works perfectly on their phones.  I tried out different QR Code readers on my Droid and the NeoReader and the I-nigma were the ones which worked on my phone.  There were a few which did not work.  I also heard from my brother and another friend that they could not scan the quilt on their BB’s.  I don’t know if it’s because of the reader or because I reversed the design, but I think it  may be because the reverse image didn’t read correctly for them.

I have plans to make a larger QR Code Quilt for a new group CTModernQuiltGuild that is just  starting up. And I can’t wait to get started!

A QR Code (it stands for “Quick Response”) is a cell phone readable bar code that can store website URL’s, plain text, phone numbers, email addresses and pretty much any other alphanumeric data.

Storing up to 4296 characters they are internationally standardized, so a QR code is a QR code all over the world

  1. Dear Deirdre,
I like your QR quilt. The question is how you make this QP design? I never heard about this QR and bravo to you , pioneer of the QR quilt!!!
It will be appreciated if you will find a time to answer.

    • Thank you Valya. If you do a search for QR Code Generators you will find quite a few different programs online which are free and easy to use. I like KAYWA but have also used ZXING . You can put all sorts of information on your personalized QR Code. Good luck!
