I am mainly self-taught, which a heavy side of workshop junkie and a voracious desire to learn. My focus can change instantly from North to South while I’m at a full gallop. Don’t worry if you can’t keep up, I’ll catch you on the return.
I’ve been very lucky to have the many talented friends and acquaintances in my life. These are some of the most giving people in the world and they help foster the person I am. They allow me to ask questions and bounce ideas off them and I feel that they respect my answers and opinions.
I wake up at 3:30am with BRILLIANT ideas! These ideas are still brilliant at 8:30am after a shower and a strong cup of coffee. I have been having these amazing sparks of inspiration for more than 20 years, so I don’t think this insomnia is only a symptom of getting older. My father Warren B. Murphy was the most brilliant man I ever knew and in my entire life, I never saw him sleep. So maybe it runs in the family, or maybe it had more to do with his caffeine intake.
I will also tell you that I am a world-class procrastinator. AND (or but) these brilliant ideas are even better in real life than they are in my dreams. Some of my most popular work* has been done at the 11th hour and some of it even after 12.
* Please make sure you read the story of the Knight of Wands (Man with Big Stick) and how I made the QR Code Quilt. (Coming soon)
