If you look at this quilt it looks done… but unfortunately I should have paid attention to the fact that the light yellow was too light to read correctly. So today I get to decide if I paint or remove the blocks which need to be darkened. I am very happy with the way this looks, so hopefully the fix will be easy.

Progress on 2nd row of QR Quilt

Today was a good quilting day – but much if it was spent away from my sewing machine, visiting with Southern NY area SAQA members. I even got to see Martha Hall’s quilt in person! It was very impressive.

Here is the progress I’ve made on the 2nd row. I have a feeling I may have to replace the lightest yellow color.

My New QR Code Quilt – Part 1

Yesterday I started a new QR Quilt, here is the top section.

QR Quilt: CT Modern Quilt Guild

This will be used for the CT Modern Quilt Guild.

I had a pile of graduated brights and although it’s hard to tell the light background color are Cream on Cream fabrics which I haven’t used in years. I think they look great together.

QR Code Quilt

I finished my QR Code Quilt* and I’m very pleased with how it came out. (Images are clickable)

I’ve heard from several people with iPhone, iPads and Android smart phones and the quilt works perfectly on their phones. I tried out different QR Code readers on my Droid and the NeoReader and the I-nigma were the ones which worked on my phone. There were a few which did not work. I also heard from my brother and another friend that they could not scan the quilt on their BB’s. I don’t know if it’s because of the reader or because I reversed the design, but I think it may be because the reverse image didn’t read correctly for them.

I have plans to make a larger QR Code Quilt for a new group CTModernQuiltGuild that is just starting up. And I can’t wait to get started!
